About

Warsash u3a Membership is open to everyone who is no longer in full-time work. The u3a gives retired and semi-retired people a unique opportunity to do something different and offers people like us the chance to make new friends, develop new skills, have new experiences, and really get out and enjoy retirement.

Wu3a is part of the Third Age Trust, the national umbrella organisation for over a thousand u3as around the country. The aim of each u3a is: “The advancement of education and, in particular, the education of older people and those who are retired from full time work by all means, including associated activities conducive to learning and personal development.”

Warsash u3a (Wu3a) is an independently managed, registered charity (No.1181982) with its own Constitution and run by it's elected committee. Wu3a operates for the benefit of its members and is financed by members subscriptions.

Have a look at the Groups tab to see what we do. You won’t find any formal education here in u3a, learning is for its own sake, with enjoyment being the prime motive. All our activities bring benefits in health and social wellbeing as well as opportunities to pursue learning and develop our interests in retirement.

Our over 30 Interest Groups organise Meetings, Workshops, Events and Visits offering such subjects as Gardening, Bridge, Canasta, Languages, Outings and more physical activities like Walking and Cycling. Our Groups are run by our members, on a voluntary basis and we are remarkably lucky to have much to offer our members.

If you would like to find out more about what we do, or if you have any other questions, use the Contact tab at the top to send a message to one of our Committee Members. Or, why not come along to one of our monthly meetings at Warsash Victory Hall, 2nd Friday of the month, where you will receive a warm welcome.

If you would like to become a member please use our Online Membership Form. Alternatively contact our Membership Secretary who will be only too pleased to help you. Membership forms are also available at the monthly meetings.
